Ginger Hill Plant
Monongahela, PA (1,000,000 tpy), 1998 — 2007- Waste coal recovery plant that produced cleaned fines.
- CQ Inc. designed and operated the plant using state-of-the-art froth flotation, water-only cyclones, spirals and screen-bowl centrifuges.
- Cleaned coal is pelletized with a reagent and coarse coal to create a synthetic fuel.
Bowie Synfuel Facility
Paonia, Colorado (4 — 5 million tpy), 2005 — 2007
- Retained to oversee relocation of a synfuel plant to the Bowie property.
- Managed re-erection at the mine.
- Operated this production facility creating synfuel out of a portion of the mine’s output.
- Successfully placed the plant into operation in the fall of 2006.
- The plant was expected to produce synfuel at over 500 tons per hour throughout 2007.
Pleasant Ridge Plant
Alledonia, OH (850,000 tpy), 1998 — 2007- Waste coal recovery plant that produced cleaned fines.
- CQ Inc. designed and operated the plant using state-of-the-art froth flotation, water-only cyclones, spirals and screen-bowl centrifuges.
- Cleaned coal is pelletized with a reagent and coarse coal to create a synthetic fuel.
- Won the John A. Holmes Safety Association Award for zero lost-time accidents — 9 years in a row.
East Bend Plant
Union, KY (1.7 million tpy), 2004 — 2007- Received coal from various sources and applied a latex reagent followed by heat and pressure to produce a synthetic fuel.
- Fuel is sold to Cincinnati Gas & Electric.
- Operated for its first year without a lost-time accident.
Clymer Fuels LLC Plant
Clymer, PA (750,000 tpy), 1999 — 2001- Received raw coal from over 20 surface and deep mines.
- Produced bituminous clean coal for power plants throughout the Mid-Atlantic states.
- Used blending, crushing and ultrasonic cleaning technologies to produce synthetic fuel and clean coal at specified quality levels and best possible Btu recovery.
Yellow Run Waste Coal Recovery Plant
Somerset County, PA (500,000 tpy), 1999 — 2000- Cleaned feedstock to power plant specifications using hydrocyclones, heavy-media cyclones, froth flotation, and dewatering equipment.
- Used leading-edge ultrasound technology to produce synthetic fuel.
Tyrone E-Fuel® Plant
Tyrone, PA (80,000 tpy), 1995 — 2001- Used paper-making byproducts and coal to produce E-Fuel pellets that Westvaco Corp. burned in its paper mill boiler.
- Re-located to East Bend when the paper mill closed.
- Operated for 6 years with only one lost-time accident.
